The Minnesota Chemical Dependency Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals employs both deaf and hearing individuals fluent in American Sign Language. Job titles include: Chemical Dependency Counselors, Drug Unit Assistants, Sign Language Interpreters, Training Coordinators, Intake Specialists, Prevention Specialists and various other Office Support Staff.
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors Currently,
the Minnesota Chemical Dependency Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
is looking for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors to join its team.
Persons in this role work directly, in both group and one-on-one settings, with
deaf and hard of hearing clients participating in chemical dependency
treatment. Requirements include current licensure as an LADC in the state
of Minnesota, experience in a chemical dependency treatment setting, the
ability to work closely and collaboratively with a small &
specialized team of staff, and fluency in American Sign Language; a
bachelor's degree is preferred. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing
are encouraged to apply. At this time, counselors are needed for part time
on-call "casual" hours.
